Described by one pilot observing from the periphery of the battle as looking like the 'jaws of hell', it is difficult to imagine what it was like as tiny, fragile Swordfish threaded their way through the tracer and AA fire erupting from 100's of guns of all calibres. The number of Italian rounds fired equated to around 5000/aircraft!
Designer David Adams has created 2 designs that vividly capture the chaotic scene as Swordfish press home their attacks in near darkness punctuated by tracer and the light from explosions.
'Torpedo hit' depicts the moment when a torpedo explodes against an Italian warship and a Swordfish makes good her escape through a hail of fire while 'Jaws of hell' is a panoramic view of the scene.
Both designs are available on mugs and table mats and all include the squadron numbers, HMS Illustrious, date and the Taranto 80 logo.
Mugs are dishwasher and microwave proof - 300ml
The table mats have a tough gloss melamine surface and a cork backing.
NB The mugs and cutlery in the table mat images are purely to illustrate a possible place setting. Table mats are not supplied with either.

If, for whatever reason, you need to return an item to us, it must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
