This limited edition single cask Somerset cider brandy has been aged for 8 years in small oak barrels and is delicious. It's then made even more special by being finished for another 2 years in a barrel that had previously held port for over twenty years. 

It is a beautifully balanced spirit imbued with a subtle sweetness from the Port casks.

In 2007, enroute to South Africa, the MSC Napoli was beached off Devon. Its cargo included new, empty Allier oak barrels destined for The Cape’s finest vineyards. Some of the shipwrecked barrels found their way to us, having been protected from the sea by being packed among bibles written in Zulu. Maturing our brandy in these barrels gives a sophisticated finish worthy of single cask bottling. We now buy new barrels from the same cooperage. The finely grained new Allier oak is what creates the distinctive smoked, oaky taste of Shipwreck.

It smells fruity but with smoke and oak and toasted apples and hints of mahogany. A smoky, sophisticated and distinctively oaky finish.

It smells bold, full of apples, vanilla and spice. It tastes fruity with walnut, coffee and oak notes and prunes, vanilla and spice and sherry wood. It feels smooth and full with a gentle astringency.

In the mouth: Again, it’s deep, it’s rich, it’s rounded, it’s spicy. Very sweet, but balanced by tannin and oak. Less acidity than the Kingston Black Apple Aperitif, but again there’s more than you find in most pommeaux, which is all to the good. Char and raisin and cinnamon and nutmeg. In pudding terms it’s Halloween’s toffee apple meeting Christmas’s fruitcake. A decadent end-of-evening treat.”
