Our measures are made in the time-honoured way - from skilfully hand-beaten brass which is copper-plated, polished and then lined with silver to neutralise taste. Practical as well as ornamental.

Cartoonist 'Steev' humorously captures the great spirit of the aircraft and crews of the Royal Navy and Fleet Air Arm.

Steev (aka aeroengineer extraordinaire Steve George) is a great supporter of Navy Wings (he now works as a volunteer in our hangar) and all things Fleet Air Arm. We are very grateful that he has allowed us to use his fantastic artwork and a proportion of the proceeds will go to a charity of which he is a Trustee, the Fleet Air Arm Memorial Church Trust, to facilitate their new memorial walkway.

The Bagger and Pinger communities are rightly proud of the role that they play (and have played) in the battlespace and what better aircraft to illustrate that role than the Sea King with its decades of sterling service.

Traditionally, code flags or international signal flags are used by ships at sea individually to spell out short messages or in combinations with special meanings.

There are 2 types to choose from:

Stringbag coffee is sourced from Lake Toba, in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia,. The beans are parted from their fruit using the local technique called Giling Basoh or 'wet grinding' which imparts wonderful earthy tones into the coffee. This helps to create the smoky, spicy aromas for which Indonesian coffee is so highly regarded.

Ship's Bells

While not being on the scale of Big Ben, these are very substantial, heavyweight bells and have been supplied to world navies and shipping companies as well as pleasure boaters and home owners. Each is manufactured in the finest age old tradition - sand-cast solid brass turned and polished to an immaculate sheen. These are very solid and very sonorous bells, redolent of those on ships on which you may have served. They are unlacquered so they don't discolour, but will develop an attractive and authentic patina over time.

The Swordfish had far too illustrious a career to be encapsulated quickly, but we've noted 3 remarkable actions with these Pop Art fridge magnets which graphically illustrate the courage of their young crews .

Perhaps not ideal for a certain famous Danish lager, but still 'probably' the best Battle of Taranto mug in the world. We'd like to say the same about the table mat and cushion.

Both offer details of the Naval Air Squadrons involved, the individual aircrews, the aircraft and their markings, munitions carried, flight movements, damage inflicted etc.

They are both a history lesson and a commemoration of a highly successful, innovative and critical naval air action in which individuals demonstrated extreme courage.

Success at Taranto changed the balance of power in the Mediterranean. This not only had dramatic repercussions in naval terms, but also in assisting the North African Campaign and providing the blue print for the Japanese to attack at Pearl Harbour. It started the decline in importance of the capital ship as the aircraft carrier rose to the ascendant.
