Major engagements include attacks on the Tirpitz and Japanese oil installations in Sumatra. Later it was heavily used in Korea where it performed sterling service bombing military installations, railway infrastructure and bridges etc. and then in 1954 against the Communist forces in the Malayan campaign.
1702 Fireflies were built between 1941 and 1953. WB271 entered service with 814 squadron at Culdrose on 8th July 1949.
