Originally a pictorial history of the race to get the world's last flying Sea Vixen, XP924, ready for the 2015 flying season, the current editions cover the period up to her 'wheel's up' landing. A comprehensively and lavishly illustrated record of a very special aircraft.

Twin boom beast

A fitting celebration of an extraordinary and unsung aircraft containing superb photos and written in an engaging way. I remember this particular aircraft serving with the DRA at Llanbedr and was privileged to witness its dynamic yet elegant displays A fine tribute also to the team that kept Foxy Lady in the air.

Fantasic read and exceptional photos

OK , So the Sea Vixen is one of my favourite aircraft , so apologies for being somewhat biased , sadly , my life in the FAA arrived after these beasts had long gone (just about got to touch Phantoms before the government , in their wisdom .... decing the RAF would find better use for them )

My brother was an apprenice at De Havilland in Christchurch , and worked there for many years - (some years ago , he arranged and managed the Sea Vixen Gate Guard being sited along Somerford Road ) and also worked on the drone conversion , with XP924 at Llanbedr . His other recollection was that this Vixen suffered a Wheels Up landing at Yeovilton as some stage ?

Anyway , its a great book , hats off to the maintenace crew and all associoated with it .

Thank Goodness its no longer sponsored by Red Bull ....
