We are delighted to be able to offer you Navy Wings' Whisky and Gin to celebrate this year’s Centenary of the formation of the Fleet Air Arm in 1924.

To celebrate this momentous milestone, we have partnered with London & Scottish International to create these wonderful bottles of Whisky and Gin.

Fleet Air Arm Centenary Single Malt Whisky

This 10 year old, complex single malt Whisky is viscous, smooth and savoury on the palate. It is noted for its warming pastry, vanilla, oak and earthy flavours. The additional barrel age has mellowed this spirit beautifully allowing the fruit flavours to develop gently in the glass. At no stage are the components disjointed or overpowered by alcohol or the peat.

The flavours are gentle and balance each other beautifully from the first smell through to the long finish.

Fleet Air Arm Centenary Small Batch Gin

Our Small Batch London Dry Gin has aromas of Alpine Forest, with lively green pine and leafy herbs. It has big, bold robust flavours with brilliant juicy juniper followed by a smooth woody spice and clean citrus notes leading to a strong lingering finish.

Navy Wings Whisky and Gin is currently only available to customers based in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.

A Navy Strength version of the multi award winning Colonsay Gin. 

While powerful, this gin is far from just being a blunt instrument and it lacks for nothing in terms of complexity and flavour.

Colonsay Gin – Cait Sith is Wild Thyme Spirits’ version of an Old Tom style gin based on its multi-award winning Colonsay Gin.

“Old Tom is dead, then I must be queen”, said the Cait Sith {Caught Shee}.

From the deep, dark recesses of Celtic Mythology came the Cait Sith. A legendary spectral cat that roamed the Scottish Highlands & Islands, mysteriously bringing with it, either a blessing, or a curse, depending on whether householders left it a suitable libation or not. Not a cat as we know it, but rather a fairy-like creature that took the form of a cat.

To the Ancient Celts, cats were a message to step back and look within. A symbol of resourcefulness, flexibility, aloofness, unpredictability and, of course, great mystery.

Old Tom plays an important role in the history of gin, sitting as it does, between Dutch Genever and London Dry, it’s drier than the former but sweeter than the latter. Created to satisfy the huge demand for gin in the 18th & 19th centuries, distillers sweetened their juniper-laced sprits with liquorice or sugar, and in so doing, created a whole new category of gin

A small batch, hand-made, premium Scottish Gin, in the style of a classic London Dry Gin, slightly stronger at 47% ABV to accentuate the full flavour of the botanicals that we use which consistently produce a fantastic, juniper led, premium quality gin. 

Colonsay Gin takes its inspiration from a mixture of Celtic folklore and the natural Hebridean beauty of the island. Our Gin is hand-made in small batches to a recipe that is closely guarded by our special helper, ALVA, a delightful, red-haired maiden, who lives at the home of Wild Thyme Spirits – Tigh na Uruisg – which means Home of the Spirit. Colonsay Gin is all about a sense of place and the heartfelt passion of those who make it.

A beautifully concentrated crisp blackcurrant liqueur with a remarkable depth. Made using whole Somerset blackcurrants infused for six months with our Apple Eau de Vie.

We love it with our Burrow Hill Perry – add a generous dash as you would use a Cassis

Apple Eau de Vie infused with Somerset Morello cherries. Rich and fragrant with a hint of almonds.

Good after dinner or served with ice cream.

The alchemist’s art is evident in Alchemy’s journey from our orchards to a unique golden spirit. A brandy with finesse and apple, mellow, smooth and long on the palate.

TASTING NOTES - Smells of ripe fruit, vanilla and raisins, It tastes complex and apply with a hint hazelnut and raisins. It is smooth, balanced and soft.

XO Somerset Cider Brandy is blended for age and quality. We have drawn upon over thirty years of experience to make this beautifully balanced spirit.

XO has been aged in small oak barrels and each bottle can be traced back to it's source orchard. It starts with a fruity, applely nose which leads into an elegant aromatic palate with notes of vanilla, followed by a long spicy, oak finish.

50cl 43% abv.

In 2007, enroute to South Africa, the MSC Napoli was beached off Devon. Its cargo included new, empty Allier oak barrels destined for The Cape’s finest vineyards. Some of the shipwrecked barrels found their way to us, having been protected from the sea by being packed among bibles written in Zulu. Maturing our brandy in these barrels gives a sophisticated finish worthy of single cask bottling. We now buy new barrels from the same cooperage. The finely grained new Allier oak is what creates the distinctive smoked, oaky taste of Shipwreck.

It smells fruity but with smoke and oak and toasted apples and hints of mahogany. A smoky, sophisticated and distinctively oaky finish.

It smells bold, full of apples, vanilla and spice. It tastes fruity with walnut, coffee and oak notes and prunes, vanilla and spice and sherry wood. It feels smooth and full with a gentle astringency.

Complex with a Christmas pudding richness, full of subtle bouquets and aromas.

5 year old Somerset Cider Brandy.

Complex with a velvety palate and intriguing spicy aftertaste. 

The nose is fruity, sweet and floral, like spring in the orchards. There is honeysuckle, apple blossom and hawthorn. The taste is full of apple, with delicate white flowers and a clean lingering fruit finish.

This brandy has gained depth, smoothness and stature.  With its complexity, velvety palate and intriguing spicy aftertaste it is a candidate for after dinner.

“On the nose: Deeper, richer, spicier. Very spicy actually, oak and nutmeg and clove. Moved from the Dundee Cake of the Kingston Black Aperitif to a brandy-soaked Christmas pudding. Oloroso sherry. Polished furniture. All with a beating heart of stewed apple. Fans of Glendronach, step this way.

In the mouth: Again, it’s deep, it’s rich, it’s rounded, it’s spicy. Very sweet, but balanced by tannin and oak. Less acidity than the Kingston Black Apple Aperitif, but again there’s more than you find in most pommeaux, which is all to the good. Char and raisin and cinnamon and nutmeg. In pudding terms it’s Halloween’s toffee apple meeting Christmas’s fruitcake. A decadent end-of-evening treat.”

“On the nose: Really clean and fresh. Red apple juice, heather honey, a light touch of caramel. Orange zest and copper pennies. Very nicely married with the spirit – nothing harsh whatsoever.

In the mouth: Pristine again, and what this has that pommeau often tends not to is a lovely fresh brightness of acidity that just pierces the sweetness and lifts everything up. Apple and golden raisin. Mango slices and Dundee cake. Just such a drinkable and fresh take on this style and again the weighting of juice and spirit is delightful.”

“It pours a bright, burnished bronze and whilst still a little swirl reveals some pronounced ‘legs’. The aroma is sweet and aged, toffee apple and Christmas cake, but at the same time the acid in the Kingston Black juice lifts everything to give the impression of a light, freshness. In the mouth it is more of the same, the spices and sultanas from the Christmas cake almost seem to evaporate off the surface of the liquid and fill your nose from within. There’s no harshness or alcoholic note, just velvety, sweet goodness.”
