The de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk (or Chippie) is a tandem, two-seat, single-engine primary trainer aircraft designed and developed by de Havilland (Canada). It was developed shortly after WWII and sold in large numbers during the immediate post-war years, often used as a replacement for the de Havilland Tiger Moth biplane. Introduced in 1946 it was finally retired in the UK in 1996.

It was much loved by the generations of trainee pilots who cut their teeth on this very capable, reliable and pilot friendly aircraft.

This specific aircraft, WK608, beautifully rendered here by Joe Roberts, currently resides in the Navy Wings hangar. It is part of the Navy Wings 'tail dragger' training process and makes regular appearances at airshows around the UK.

The Fairey Fulmar was a British carrier-borne fighter aircraft that served with the Fleet Air Arm  during the Second World War. A total of 600 were built by Fairey Aviation at its Stockport factory between January 1940 and December 1942. The Fulmar's design was based on that of the earlier Fairey P.4/34 that was in turn developed in 1936 as a replacement for the Fairey Battle light bomber. Although its performance (like that of its Battle antecedent) was lacking, the Fulmar was a reliable, sturdy aircraft with long range and an effective eight machine gun armament.

This intriguing lamp incorporates part of a jet aircraft. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to pin down exactly what it is due to a lack of part numbers, although our engineers have a suspicion that it might be from Sea Harrier.

That notwithstanding, it is a fabulous design. A great addition to your living room or study and a real talking piece.

A dramatic part of British aviation history mounted on a handmade wooden plinth.

This is a very rare, substantial and unusual statement piece for the home or office. 

The Sea Fury was the pinnacle of piston powered Royal Naval aviation and traced it's lineage back through the Typhoon and Tempest. A 2500hp power house, multi-purpose aircraft that was as capable as a fighter with four 20mm cannon as it was as a bomber carrying up to two 1000lb bombs or a complement of up to 16 rockets.

Although the Sea Fury first flew in 1945, it had the misfortune to be introduced into squadron service in 1947 at a time when jet technology was coming of age. Its service life was consequently brief. It was retired from the Fleet Air Arm in 1953, but not before it had played a noteworthy role in Korea where one aircraft shot down a MiG15 jet fighter.

With a maximum speed of c.460mph and superb all-round performance, this sleek and eye catching aircraft has become an icon.

A very few remaining airworthy examples are on the display circuit or are used for racing at Reno.

615 were produced for the Fleet Air Arm with c. 250 more providing good service for the navies of  Canada, Australia and the Netherlands.

Samuel Plimsoll, MP, is remembered for his safe load waterline mark, introduced to prevent unscrupulous shipping owners from overloading their ships and so taking excessive risks with the lives of their crews. It is now found on all commercial ships worldwide. This attractive whisky glass, handsomely etched with his image and the Plimsoll line, in this case used to mark the "safe load" for a generous helping of spirit.

The Lockheed F-35 is an advanced stealth fifth generation fighter combining speed and superb agility. There are three variants; F-35A, B and C. The F-35A CTOL (Conventional Take Off and Landing) and has four internal weapons stations in two weapons bays plus three optional external weapons stations. F-35B Lightning II ZM149 “015” (c/n BK-15) piloted by Sqn Ldr Will of the RAF No 207 Squadron from RAF Marham completed the first successful landing onboard HMS Prince of Wales on June 8, 2021. This was the inaugural landing of a fixed-wing aircraft on the Prince of Wales. The Prince of Wales is the second Royal Navy aircraft carrier and was conducting sea trials commencing on June 7, 2021. ZM149 will take part in the sea acceptance trials by testing the vessel’s ability to launch and recover aircraft

The Hawker Sea Hawk is a British single-seat jet fighter operated by the Fleet Air Arm. Built by Hawker aircraft and Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft, it drew on earlier designs of Hawker piston engined aircraft, it was their first move into the world of jet propulsion. 

Following acceptance by the Royal Navy, the Sea Hawk proved to be a reliable and sturdy workhorse and much loved by aircrew. A considerable number were exported and were operated from aircraft carriers in Dutch and Indian service. The last operational Sea Hawks, operated by the Indian Navy, were retired in 1983.

The Westland Wyvern was a British single-seat, multi-role strike aircraft designed for carrier use. It served in the 1950s and saw active service in the 1956 Suez crisis. Production Wyverns were powered by a turboprop engine driving two contra-rotating propellers. Heavily armed, it was fitted with 4 x 20mm cannon and could also carry rockets, bombs and aerial torpedoes.

An aircraft with a troubled service history, it had a short service life due to the increasing move towards use of jet aircraft.

Each is manufactured in the finest age old tradition - sand-cast solid brass turned and polished to an immaculate sheen. These are very solid and very sonorous bells, redolent of those on ships on which you may have served. They are unlacquered so they don't discolour, but will develop an attractive and authentic patina over time.
